Through this concept there is a university with a name of the Sri Ramaswamy Memorial university was established.  This university is known as the SRM university.  This university has been established in 1985 under the province of Anna university. This university is recognized by the University Grant Commission in the year of 2003-04 and awarded for the best teaching environment. SRM has been given an awarded of grade B++ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. The main campus of this university is in Kattankulathur.The university has two campus sections, the Main and the Annex Campus, that cover 8 blocks and are spread over 660 acres (2.7 km2). The Indian Bank, City Union Bank, the SRM Hotel that includes swimming pool and bar facilities, and the Royal Inn Restaurant are all located on the campus. The various blocks within SRMIST include: SRM General Hospital, SRM Medical College, SRM Kattankulathur Dental College, SRM Arts & Science College, SRM Polytechnic College, Valliammai Engineering College, Valliammai Polythenic College, the PG Block, the Hi-Tech Block, the Main Block, the Mechanical Block, the Mech PG Block, the Electrical Sciences Block, the Computer Science Block, the Biotech block, IT Park (15 floors), an Auditorium (1,000-seat capacity), MBA block, as well as the University Block (3 floors) that houses the Central Library (4 floors) with an Internet Cafe and a Cafeteria. There are also about half a dozen hostels. Work is going on on the construction of a A multipurpose indoor stadium with an estimated cost of Rs.1.6 crore has been proposed and the ground work was started in 2011 by Shri Abhinav Bindra when SRM University offered him a Doctorate degree. The main campus at Kattankulathur consists of three colleges.

SRM university is an oldest university and a large university. The university has many other campuses are Ramapuran, Vadapalani, Tiruchirapalli. The SRM university has many departments with many faculty for the under graduation and post graduation degree courses. The degree courses are B. Tech, B.E, B. A, B. Sc for the UG. The another degree courses are M. Tech, M.A., M.Sc, MBA and so on. The university have 2 years, 3 years and 4 year degree program.

SRM University Results 2015:-

The university conducted the exams in the semester format. There are a lot of students come here for the study from in India and Abroad. The exams details were decided in the month of October, November. The exams were done in the month of January and April.
